I've decided that in order to reach and live my dreams, I need to set some goals. Rodan and Fields provides wonderful guidance and support in starting this business. However, it can all be VERY overwhelming. I have spent the last few days, learning how to prospect, learning the language of the business, how to navigate and use the Internet to attract attention to my website https://sheribskincare.myrandf.com (ok, that was a plug!), and dealing with my conflicting emotions (Can I do this? I can't do this! This product will sell itself! I'm not good at sales! Will I be a failure? How can I be a failure with all this support! etc.etc.etc!)
Well, you know what! The only way I am going to be successful is to find the confidence, set goals, and list my appreciations. Sooooo... here I go.
I CAN DO THIS!!! I HAVE TEAMED UP WITH THE DOCTORS RODAN AND FIELDS! THEIR PRODUCTS WORK AND MY SKIN AND MY HUSBAND's SKIN ARE TESTIMATES TO THE PRODUCTS! I CAN DO THIS!!!
Today, I appreciate my H.S. friend who helped me find this business. I appreciate my sister for taking my son today so I could focus on training myself about this business. I appreciate my husband for putting the products on both day and night and acting as my guinea pig. I appreciate his silent support for my new adventure. I appreciate Joe for taking the time out of his busy day to talk to me about my business and giving me advice (more about that in a minute).
Last night I set two goals for myself. 1) Get the courage to call Joe and ask for advice and 2) Exercise. I accomplished both goals.
Despite the FREEZING temperatures, I wrapped up and headed for a walk! Of course, I was planning to listen to some additional training while I walked but that didn't quite pan out. Instead, I listened to music and focused on my pace. (A pat on the back for myself!)
I also called Joe. Joe installed my bathroom floors two summers ago. He did a wonderful job. He was just starting out back then. I received his name from a friend who had her floors done. I referred him to a couple of other people on the street and then they referred him to their friends. I never thought back then that I would be calling on him now to get advice. I admired his business style and obviously thought very highly of his skill. So, today I picked up the phone and called him. I HATE talking on the phone but I fought back the doubts and did it! (Another pat on the back!)
Joe's advice... Visit BNL of Northern Virginia. Find chapters in the area and pick one I would feel comfortable with. He suggested not joining yet. Visit several to find a fit. Network with the people in the meeting and give out business cards and MAKE CONNECTIONS! Great advice.
Unfortunately, the local chapters closest to me already have skincare consultant members. Only one is allowed per chapter. Not only that, they meet on days that I teach on. Mondays are my free day. The closest one is in Lorton (not too far) and they meet on Mondays. It looks like a small group and not as organized as the other groups (no website), but I'll call them tomorrow to get more information. (There's my goal for tomorrow!)
Goals for Tomorrow...
1. Call Lortons BNI chapter for more info.
2. Walk!!!!
3. Ask my sister if she would be interested in becoming a preferred customer. ( I HATE ASKING PEOPLE FOR THINGS!!! --but work through it, work through it, work through it!)
4. Eat healthier - skin is a reflection of what you eat!
One more thing, R + F's SOOTHE is doing wonders on my skin and the Anti-Age Regimen is doing wonders on my husband's skin. It has been LESS than a week since we began our regimens!! I can't wait to see what we look like in 6 more weeks!!!
